NOTE:

If you are viewing this private blog, you have been given an acronym (a nickname) known only to you and to the Chairman of the group, and a password providing access.

In most cases, your password category permits you to view everything on the site except certain content generated by committees completing specific projects underway by them. This reduces the "noise level" of the blog and improves site security.

You do not have the ability to edit or delete any content, although you can add posts of your own, and are expected to comment on any content which you feel you can make a specific observation about or specially contribute to, as well as all other content you find of interest.

You should open and view all links, even those which you might not think will be of interest, as often, portions of their content will be of interest to you.

Remember that your comments are the purpose for this blog's existence.

What does the Coordinator Group do?

On a regular basis, Michael M. Hobby, Principal Scientist and Founder of the Third Millennium Fellowship, completes a wide variety of research activities and makes comments and/or draws conclusions which may or may not apply directly to a given website or division.

Most web development has been and is being delegated to other members, including the Third Millennium Fellowship and Third Millennium Institute websites, to enable Hobby to devote the majority of his time to field and laboratory research. He retains primary responsibility for the Foundation website,

http://www.zarahemlageological.com

but Dr. Jeffrey R. Coleville and his staff will be assuming a growing share.

Hobby's research activities take him out of the office and often out of the country (ex: Guatemala in late July). As time passes, this pattern will increase.
The research data: notes, links, photographs, videos, posts, etc. are so numerous and so varied that individuals other than Hobby need to review them in their entirety and ensure that applicable site content reflects or takes them into consideration.

This is not a trivial task, but a time-consuming commitment on the part of those entrusted with this responsibility.

Therefore, care is being exercised in offering Think Tank membership to individuals, some trained in a variety of disciplines, in the belief that their personal perspective or special academic training bearing upon the substance of portions of the research is vital to the development of outreach perspective.

This mandated blog bearing the directed name has been established on July 25th, 2009. Hereafter, Hobby and Group members will post content to this blog, regardless of whether or not they have posted it elsewhere. We ask that all Group content be posted in English.

Again, Think Tank Group members will individually analyze the content of posts and make comments at the bottom of those which most interest them. They also have the ability and are encouraged to add their own posts, using their acronym both for security reasons and to avoid revealing their actual identity to other Group members; this also promotes enhanced professionalism.

Individual comments and individual posts will then be collectively reviewed by the Group Chairman and Co-Chairman whom Hobby has personally appointed and in whom he has vested his trust and confidence. They have a higher-level password which allows them to improve, otherwise modify, or delete most content as well as inappropriate or unprofessional comments, if any, whether posted by Hobby or individual Group members. They will then take into consideration comments made by individual Group members, and follow the recommendations adjudged by them to be the most valuable or directly pertinent in each case. After this process has been completed, the Chair and Co-Chair will ensure integration of the collective review and analysis into other contexts.

It is crucial that members of this group exercise their responsibility and not fall too far behind posted content. Visiting the blog on a regular basis will be necessary. THINK TANK membership is a privilege. Those who demonstrate a lack of interest or insufficient commitment will, at their request or at the option of the Chairman, have their THINK TANK Coordinator Group membership revoked, even if they remain a member of the THINK TANK in the normal capacity. Their membership in the Fellowship will not be affected.

The collective decisions of the Group will become a principal source of material not only for the websites, but for a variety of programs and divisions of the Fellowship, especially the Third Millennium Institute and the divisions of CHBV (Capital Humanitarian Business Ventures).

During Roman times, statuary was a booming industry. Occasionally, the sculptor would discover a fault in the matrix of the block of marble he had chosen for a particular work of art. As a consequence of this or a simple technique error, an unintended piece of the sculpture would fracture or break off; for example, part of finger or nose. When this occurred, the sculptor would use white wax to replace the missing fragment, making it indiscernible to the inexperienced eye. However, sculptures with hidden defects brought a significantly lower price when they were sold. Those which were genuine, sin cere, "without wax," brought the highest price and were the “gold” of the statuary market.

We ask that you approach the responsibility entrusted to you with sincerity, bearing in mind that the word, “sincere” is a combination of the two Latin words: sin and cere, meaning genuine, without wax.

Sincerely,

Group Chairman and Co-Chairman
